Home Body Counseling Approach

When we become stuck in survival mode, stress responses, & avoidance of our thoughts/feelings, our connection to ourselves may become disrupted or our sense of self & safety negatively impacted.

Home Body Counseling was created with Sarah's approach to therapy in mind. She believes in order to heal & grow, we need to become a home body first.

So what does that look like?

Building our HOME: learning how to create a secure attachment within ourselves, to be a safe haven (home base) for all parts of ourselves.

Befriending our BODY: learning how to be in connection with, listen to, notice, sense, accept, & feel at HOME in our BODY, to access our body’s innate capacity to heal.

Sarah integrates somatic (body)-based therapies such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, & Ego States Therapy (parts work), and utilizes the therapeutic relationship as tools for creating the foundation for becoming a home body.

You don’t need to spend another day feeling less than capable. You have a right to be a home body in all aspects of your life.

This is your invitation to feel at home and at ease in your body, with all parts of yourself.
